All About E-Book Formats (and Our Products)

It might seem a bit overwhelming, or even a lot overwhelming. Almost every month there's a new player in the mobile/phone/PDA world, and almost all modern computing devices and phones will now display e-books in one format or another. It's really not that complicated, and you'll see that our products can be read on virtually any device you might have.

Our Current Formats:

Currently (January, 2010) we support any device that can read Adobe Acrobat Files (PDF), Kindle Files, or the mobipocket format that most smart phones and PDA's can use. We provide four specific formats:

• Printed (you know, old fashioned hard copy mailed to you)
• Adobe PDF files (downloadable immediately, and work best on desktops and laptop computers, but are not particularly good on mobile devices. PDF files will look almost identical to the printed versions, whereas the formats below, designed for mobile devices or e-readers have less precise layout features.
• Kindle files: Kindle is the e-reader hardware made by Amazon. Our Kindle version can be purchased from Amazon. If you own a Kindle, that's probably the best choice.
• Mobipocket Format Files: The most flexible since they can be read on virtually anything that can run the free Mobipocket reader (your computer, smartphones, PDA's), BUT, as with the Kindle, the format is less featured than the Adobe PDF file.

Ipod or Iphone, see what applications might appeal to you most. PDF files, Kindle files, and e-book files can be read on the Ipod or Iphone. See what sounds good from the Itunes App. Shop.

Ipad, we have no idea. Seriously. It was just released a day or two ago. Our guess is it will also handle the same formats as the Ipod or Iphone.

Kindle, buy the Kindle version.

Printed page, get the Adobe Acrobat PDF version, since they will print out on your printer, or buy the printed version from us and we will ship it to you. For printed pages, you might want to pass on the other e-formats.

Smartphone, PDA (Nokia, Blackberry, other dedicated e-readers) go with the mobipocket format. For more information go here.
